The civil engineering department was established in the year 2009 and is gaining popularity as one of the strongest department in JPNCE. It started with a modest intake of 60 and is increased to 120 this year in addition to 60 in the Polytechnic course.
The department has a strong team of dedicated and qualified faculty, specialised in all fields of Civil Engineering along with two doctorates. To enrich knowledge and strengthen the academic activities, the department is drawing experts from various streams of Civil Engineering and arranging invited lectures on various topics.
The faculty members of the department are raring to go with all preparedness in order to make a difference in nurturing the budding Civil Engineers.
To foster the students through quality education, research work and mould them for professional commitment towards needs of the society and build sustainable structures.
M1- Education: To deliver a quality engineering education through innovative dynamic teaching-learning environment and impart professional experience.
M2- Research: To provide a platform for faculty and students for the application of innovative technical knowledge in their field of interest.
M3-Society: To inculcate professional skills to cater the society through technical solutions to the real time problems.
Now-a- days, we are witnessing unprecedented infrastructural development throughout the world. Civil Engineers can find jobs in Government departments, private and public sector industries, research and teaching institutions etc. They are taking up challenging jobs across the Globe. Civil engineers are employed in all the major construction projects carried out by the state or central government, the railways, private construction companies, military, engineering services, consultancy services etc. Civil engineers will always be needed to maintain and repair existing facilities and structures and to construct new ones. After doing B. Tech, one can look for jobs in road projects, building work, consultancy firms, quality testing laboratories or housing societies. Civil engineering graduates can also go in for research and take up teaching or they can open their own independent consultancy services. Activities Civil Engineering students in JPNCE participate in the construction activity of the college by bounding hands with our builders. Apart from this, they are also gaining more practical knowledge on the recent trends in construction by visiting construction sites and research centers in and around Hyderabad. Internships and industrial visits are arranged to gain more practical knowledge.
